Old Navy has been my go to store for
summer shorts every year. I love the variety of styles, colors, and textures. And
most likely, no matter what your preference or body style you can find a pair
that is perfect for you!
I applied for the most recent Old Navy sample share through Crowdtap and was so excited when I found out I was chosen
to participate in the Old Navy’s SHORTS event! As an Old Navy Style Council
member I was given a coupon for myself and a friend to redeem a FREE pair of
shorts of our choice!
Before I headed to the store I checked
out the selection online at www.oldnavy.com And when I got to the store I was determined
to try on a variety of styles, colors and step outside of my comfort zone
because sometimes you can be surprised how different something looks on the
hanger to when you try it on. So that's what I did!
I loved the patterns and colors of the
Printed Canvas Shorts so I tried on the “Warm Multi” Printed Shorts. They were adorable! I loved all the bright colors and
patterned shorts this year that would be great to wear with a neutral top and
really be the stand out item in any outfit.
I really stepped out of my comfort zone
next and tried on the 3” Cut-Off Shorts in “Double Trouble Red”. I was glad I tried them on
though because typically standing tall at 5’9” I would just pass right by
thinking there would just be too much leg! They were actually very cute on
though especially with the top I ended up having to buy!! But the shorts were just
not the perfect ones for me.
So I tried on a cute blue pair of the
Colored Canvas Shorts on with a fun tank that had a bright floral print. But I
was a little self conscious of my tummy so kept going.
I headed back towards my comfort zone
and tried on a pair of the Cuffed Twill Shorts in green but the pockets and my
hips just didn’t get along in my reflection in the mirror.

I had saved my go to style for the
last. The Bermuda. Year after year, they are like a dependable friend. I love that
they are a longer fit and even more-so especially now that I’m an active
Mommy-on-the-Go. I need functional clothing that is modest and yet comfortable but not frumpy. And that's why I love this style. It's a combination of modest, comfortable and fashionable! I was a little bummed though because they were out of my
size in the light and dark kakhi Bermudas and the size below were just a little
too tight in the waist. And I already had a pair of navy ones I bought last
year. The customer service was fantastic and they were happy to help by checking and grabbing different sizes if I needed any!
So the very last pair of shorts I tried on, which were
actually the ones I thought I would probably choose, were the light washed
denim Distressed Denim Bermuda! I love the fit because they fit close to my leg
and aren’t too baggy so even though I have the longer length I still feel cute
because they are flattering. Plus I love the distressed look even down to the frayed rolled cuff - and I won't feel bad
if I get some dirt on them, which is pretty much guaranteed chasing my two boys
around. In fact, a few more rips or stains will just add to their character!

I literally spent over an hour and a half at Old Navy that day browsing, admiring the displays, and trying on so many styles and combinations of outfits. I
loved all the colors and patterns this year - and the great ideas for outfits on the mannequins!

One suggestion I have for next
year would be to PLEASE have some of the
Women's Printed Canvas Shorts (like these in the photo above & directly below)

And here is Olivia who was the lucky lady who received my second coupon for a FREE pair of shorts! She is looking fabulous in her Women’s Old Navy Relaxed Chino Shorts!! As a busy mom on the go, these will be perfect for
her. She’ll be not only comfortable but super stylish as well!!! Doesn't she look great?!!
And here are a few photos of me in my new favorite shorts! These shorts will be great to wear to a
variety of occasions this summer and for years to come! They can be dressed up with
a cute top, cardigan and wedges for date night. Or super casual paired with a
tank or tee and flip flops for a BBQ with family in the backyard! The shorts I
chose are perfect for me and my life. I
am very happy with them! I'm wearing my Old Navy: tank, floral campshirt, cardigan, yellow pop kicks with my FREE shorts!
