Old Navy Active Wear Sample Share

My sister Melissa I got to go to Old Navy and pick out a free active wear top and bottom - each - for FREE!!! It was very exciting!!! We had fun picking out different pants and tops to try on. I included photos of our favorite picks and the ones we chose for our free outfits!!

The selection was great, many styles and fully stocked in our sizes. I had several pieces that were close seconds, but the ones that won for me were the loose fit active tank in black and grey stripe paired with the compression capri pant in black.

Melissa chose the roll top yoga pant with pink trim in black paired perfectly with her adorable pink active tee!!

We had a blast and look fabulous while working out or taking a walk along the levee or walking path.

THANK YOU OLD NAVY & CROWDTAP!!! We love our new active wear!!

The Challenge

Confessions of <Insert Child’s Name> Mom

You’ve probably heard it said “Just you wait until you’re a parent someday!” Well according to my mom, I was a “little sweetheart” (that’s actually what she called me) who according to her rarely needed disciplined. Fast forward 32 years, and now as a mother of two boys (ages 3 & 4) there are some days when I just ask “Why Lord?” “Why do I have the challenging child? This doesn't seem fair!” For instance, it may or not be my child that when I take him to a class with his peers he’s the one who is running circles around the room instead of sitting for story time, and who hits, or throws a tantrum – or runs away on your way out thinking it was the perfect time to play “Hide – and Mommy Can’t Seek”. And you finally find him on the other side of the building as he is laughing and thinking that was such great fun. And you are dragging said child out of the building screaming, along with his brother also screaming, and not looking up because you just want to get to the van and drive away. And then a few days later, he is the child who runs in front of a truck on the street as you are yelling, then screeching  "STOP!" And you get home shaking only to have him try to climb over the top of the stairway's banister head first.

But I have finally come to the place, with the Lord’s help, to see that if I did have that “perfect” child it would be so easy to become prideful and look at others and say “Well, what is she doing wrong?” Instead, I am continually humbled by my child(ren) and instead I choose to be thankful that I have the challenging child who pushes and tests each and every boundary because I realize I cannot do this on my own. I need the Lord’s strength, patience and LOVE to flow through me each and every day. And I need to trust the Lord with my children's safety as well. I do my very best as a mother to keep them from harm's way, but ultimately I have to commit them into the Lord's hands because He has kept them safe even when I was a few feet behind.

Don’t get me wrong, there are precious, sweet moments I share with my boys that melt my heart and remind me that this is why I absolutely love being a mom. Moments when they come up to me and say “Mommy, I love you!” and give me a big hug.

But too often I let those frustrating moments overshadow it all. The days when I have had to discipline my child for the same thing, for the 20th time in the past two hours, where I feel overwhelmed and insufficient as a mom. So slowly, over the past couple months, ok maybe weeks, ok maybe days, instead of reacting in anger by yelling or just throwing my hands up in frustration and just “surviving” to the end of the day, I have been doing my best to first and foremost turn to my Savior and be so in love with Him that those things that I have been yearning for and trying to do on my own “love, joy, patience, kindness, self-control” have flowed  much more easily – but only with the power and fruit of the Spirit.

So if you are feeling overwhelmed, insufficient as a mom, or maybe feeling like you have it all together but still feel empty inside, maybe it’s time to be quiet, open the Word and let His Love Flood In.

Galatians 5:22-23

“22
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”

Old Navy Tees!

Say Hello to Spring with Old Navy Style Council Women's Best Tees Sampling!

I recently had the wonderful opportunity to go shopping at Old Navy for FREE TEES with one my best friends, and sisters, Mindy. As a member of Crowdtap's Old Navy Style Council, I was selected and sent coupons for myself and one friend and each got 2 Free Perfect Fit or Vintage Tees from Old Navy! I was so excited for this sampling!

I wear Old Navy clothing all the time and especially love how durable, affordable and comfortable all their clothes are. I layer with their tanks and tees year round. And with spring finally here, it was the perfect timing to pick up a couple new tees to add to my wardrobe.

Here are a few things that Crowdtap & Old Navy wanted to know~

Tell us the details! Did you have a fun tee sampling experience? Did you have a good time browsing through Old Navy’s Tee collection? What did you think of the selection?

My sister and I had a very fun tee sampling experience. We grabbed some coffees then headed to the mall to pick out the perfect tees just for us. There was a great selection. We both enjoyed looking through the different colors and prints and grabbed ones that caught our eye to try on. I also grabbed some coordinating tanks to layer underneath. Then we headed to the dressing room!

There were so many adorable tees to choose from and try on. We each found our winning combinations! I chose the Perfect Fit V-neck Henley Tee in blue striped and solid green. Mindy chose a Vintage V-Neck Tee in plum and white.
Mindy Chose This as 1 of Her Free Tees!

Another of Mindy's Winners!

One of My Winning Tees!
Love the Bright Color & Stripes!
Are you a perfect tee fit or a vintage tee fit? Which of these Old Navy core styles do you like better? Tell us why!

I admit, I like both styles. But for this sampling I chose the Perfect Tee because they seemed to fit me and were colors that really stood out to me and were something different that I could incorporate into my new spring wardrobe.

Old Navy tees come in a variety of colors, styles and patterns! How do you add a touch of style to your basic tee? Tell us how you would dress up this basic piece for a fun night out.

I add a touch of style to my basic tee by adding a cute lace trim cami underneath so it peaks through. It’s easy to dress it up or down by adding cute denim jacket or comfy cardi, and using accessories like scarves or jewelry, and a cute wedge or ballet flat for a variety of different looks to fit any occasion.

Microsoft Windows Phone 8X by HTC Party

I have been using the same phone for the last couple years and it is not smart phone. Lately I’ve been really wanting to have a smartphone especially when I don’t want to print off a coupon and it would be handy to have it loaded on my phone instead. So needless to say, I was so excited when I found out I was selected to receive a FREE Verizon Windows Phone 8X by HTC!

I love the color and how user friendly and sleek it is!! Part of the reason I was excited about my party, was to show off my cool new phone, and to have an excuse to get together with friends and family  to laugh and eat good food.

Love that I can check the weather on my phone!

Love the color & how thin and sleek it is!

I played some music, a Top Hits Beatles cd, I had loaded on my cell phone for back ground mood music while we got the party started by eating a delicious nacho bar and veggie tray. It was easy to turn it up or down by pressing the top or bottom of the side button on the side of the phone.

After eating, I welcomed everyone and showed them my new FREE Windows Phone 8X by HTC!

I started highlighting some of my favorite features:

*The Camera ~ The easy to use camera with editing built right in. I like that you can edit your photos before you upload to Facebook or text or email it to someone. And the panoramic feature is pretty neat too. And I love that I can switch the view for taking photos either facing out or towards me! I had fun prepping for it to share with my guests and am looking forward to playing even more with it in the future!

In case you want to know more, here’s a short video! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJ8Njs0-5pY

We had fun trying out the camera.

*The Skydrive ~ I think the Skydrive is such an awesome idea and one my favorite features! That is one thing that is really annoying with my current phone, when I take a photo, I have to hook up the cord to my computer to upload it and then post to Facebook or email it.  I love the idea of having my documents and photos saved to a Skydrive and be able to access it from my computer! And 7GB is a lot ~ and it’s free! Yay! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=siPgqholRh4

*The Kid’s Corner ~ My son LOVES Angry Birds and several othter Kid’s Apps. And I have let him play them but not without a few surprise purchases which is very frustrating!! So I love this feature! It’ll be nice to let my son play his education games, play Angry Birds, and even take photos with the camera all without being able to purchase unwanted games or videos! I can rest assured that he is safe and I don’t have to watch over his shoulder every minute to make sure he’s not getting into something he shouldn’t be! I love what they said on the video: “Everyone can get their hands on a Windows Phone. Both big and small.”  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LF4qa15lPFg

My guests had fun passing the phone around and trying out the camera. And I had fun showing them all the different features. My son even had fun looking it over.

We played the Pinterest Party Board challenge. Here were the different categories:

   1.     Pin a Photo of an Important Person in Your Life

   3.     Pin Your Favorite Video Game

   7.     Pin a Photo of Your Dream Job/Career
   8.     Pin a Photo of Everyone in Attendance at the Party

  Here's my --> Pinterest Party Board  <--

It was a bit complicated for some of my guests but I kept the party light and fun and I helped them figure it out and get their hash tags right.

The winners of the Swagbags were very excited! Verizon sent me Tote Bags filled with a set of nice glass coasters, a thumb drive, a nice Verizon Cup & Straw.
